– with up to twice the run time because of its standard A/C power system, dual regenerative braking, and low rolling-friction 90 psi tires.

– with a 20% greater load capacity.

– with standard safety features such as the left-foot presence switch, intelligent directional-change braking, heavy-duty 6-ply tires and 14-gauge diamond plated body on a 10-gauge unibody frame.

Pack Mule SCT-7750 NXG (36 volt) vs. Taylor-Dunn SC-100 (36 volt)

FeaturePack MuleTaylor-DunnWhy it matters

Cargo Capacity

1,200 lbs.

1,000 lbs.

Greater cargo capacity means higher efficiency, fewer trips, and lower maintenance and labor costs.

Usable Deck Space

48" x 31.5" (1,512 sq. inches) standard with six optional sizes

49-5/16" x 29.5" (1448.5 sq. inches)

With Pack Mule, you get the most deck space and — six optional size upgrades.  (Taylor-Dunn claims their deck length is 58.5” but over 9” of that is not usable.)

Towing Capacity

5,000 lbs.

5,000 lbs.

The towing capacity is even, but Pack Mule’s greater load capacity and significantly longer run time still means more gets done.

13.2 hp sealed A/C motor

6.6 hp separately excited, not sealed

Pack Mule’s more powerful sealed motor provides greater power and no possibility of anything getting caught in the motor. And, since the A/C motor has no brushes to replace, motor maintenance is eliminated.

245 amp/hour

217 amp/hour. Upgrade available

Higher amps per hour increase runtime and battery life. Pack Mule provides nearly 15% more amp/hours.

Turning Radius

Pack Mule’s industry-best turning radius provides greater maneuverability and safety in tight places.

Cargo Deck Material

Melomine Laminated Decking

Painted Plywood Decking

Melomine lamination provides longer life and prevents early failure due to warping or splitting.

Heavy duty 1" steering pivot shaft and 1" front axle with tapered bearings and center support between front tires. Automotive-type steering wheel.

3/4" steering pivot shaft and 3/4" front axle with smaller bearings. "Clover" steering with an available upgrade to automotive-style steering wheel ($94)

Ease and precision of steering not only affect driver performance, but also safety, especially in close areas. Additionally, the more robust steering system greatly reduces downtime.

Programmable dual regenerative braking

Regenerative Braking

Pack Mule’s more efficient harvesting of the kinetic energy created by braking means more energy goes back to the batteries and less goes into wearing your brake pads.

Heavy-duty, 6 ply Load Range C (90 psi). Dual front tires.

4-ply Load Range B (60 psi). Single front tire. Upgrade to dual front tires available.

Not only do Pack Mule’s heavier-duty tires increase load capacity, but their 90 psi inflation reduces rolling resistance, increasing the vehicle’s run time. The dual front tires provide increased stability and control.

Fully programmable, tamper-proof controller

Limited function, solid-state controller, not programmable

The progamable controller allows the vehicle’s performance characteristics to be set specifically to loaction requirements, improving operation and safety.

Programmable high-frequency charger

Not Available

The programmable charger optimizes run time and extends battery life with temperature sensors and automatic cell charge equalization.

Ergonomic Matting

Not Available. Upgrade available as a part of the $315 comfort kit.

The ergonomic matting increases operator comfort and reduces fatigue, increasing safety and productivity.

Fully-enclosed Operator Foot Area

Not Available

Increases operator safety and comfort as well as protecting the internal workings of the vehicle.

Adjustable Backrest

Not Available

Pack Mule’s adjustable backrest contributes to operator comfort, productivity and safety.

Steps on Back Rest

Available as an upgrade

Let’s the operator move quickly and easily to hard-to-reach places, saving time and reducing operator fatigue.

Frame and Body

10-gauge Uni-body frame and genuine 14-gauge diamond plate steel.

Lighter 16-gauge diamond plate steel.

Welded heavier-gauge steel means a safer, sturdier vehicle that will hold up in high-volume industrial applications.

Cargo Deck Material

Melomine Laminated Decking

Painted Plywood Decking

Melomine lamination provides longer life and prevents early failure due to warping or splitting.

Hitch Plate

Multi-position hitch plate.

Single position hitch plate. No upgrade.

Multi-position hitch plate allows hitch height to be adjusted to meet the specific application.

Three-year warranty with no hours limitations.

Two-year or 2,000 Hours, whichever comes first.

Pack Mule’s confidence in its quality allowed it to introduce the industry’s first (and only) three-year warranty.

How we compare the Pack Mule to the competition.

We go to great lengths to make sure that our comparisons between Pack Mule vehicles and others are as fair and accurate as possible. It doesn’t serve anyone’s interests for those depending on the comparisons to be disappointed. Basically, here’s how we do them:

  1. We purchase competitor vehicles from time to time through authorized channels, usually a dealer, specifying standard equipment and asking for quotes on appropriate upgrades.
  2. The competitor vehicle is tested alongside the Pack Mule.
  3. Wherever possible, we use the specifications on the machine we purchased. When we need additional specs, we use the ones published on the competitor’s web site, in the quote we received from their authorized dealer or published in their user manuals.
  4. We frequently check to see if anything has changed. If it has, we immediately change the comparison, as we do when the competitor provides us documentation of a change.
  5. We offer to back our comparisons up with on-site demos. If you’re currently using another manufacturer’s electric industrial vehicle, we’ll provide a Pack Mule for you to do your own comparison.
